Wedding video is not for everyone. Some people are simply too shy to appear in photographs, much less a wedding video, or in the case of OKPhotos.com clientele, a wedding feature movie shot with as many as six professional cameras, starring YOU!
Recently a customer asked why they needed a wedding video, now that some photographers (including OKPhotos.com), are making a photo montage DVD, which is a fancy name for photo slide show with music on a DVD, for their customers?
Imagine, if you didn't know the story of Cinderella, or Robin Hood, and were treated to only a handful of photographs instead of the movie, would it be a more confusing than enjoyable experience? Yes, a wedding video allows you to relive the happiest day of your lives one more time, again and again, at a more relaxed pace, but at OKPhotos.com, we also shoot and edit the wedding movie for your yet-to-be-born children and grandchildren, and future good friends you have yet to meet.
Imagine 30 or 40 years from now, at a beautiful dinning hall where your children throw you the most splendid anniversary party. In the midst of the evening, both of you sit down with your children, grandchildren, close family, and good friends, to watch a 45-minute feature movie, on a huge widescreen TV, or projection screen, of your wedding day.
If it was shot by Uncle John with his home video camera, in the old (by then "ancient") full screen format instead of the movie-like widescreen, constant eye-straining/headache-inducing shaky handheld video, bad lighting, grainy sometimes-blurry picture, sound volume alternating between barely audible and eardrum-busting loud, parts of the ceremony missing because the tape ran out, can't quite make out what the minister said due to the lack of wireless lapel microphones, jumping from the middle of one scene into another while making no sense, missing the cake-cutting becaue Uncle John was not done eating, etc, it may be hard for some to watch. In fact, it might just ruin an otherwise magnificent party.
But when it was shot by professionals, with as many as six broadcast-quality video cameras, on stable platforms like professional-quality video tripods, Steadicam, with wireless lapel microphone and digital voice recorder at the ceremony, wireless handheld mic for friends and family interviews, and then professionally edited over days. Lighting level properly adjusted in every scene, sound level tweak to near perfection throughout the movie, sound and picture time-shifted here and there to improve and optimize the video story-telling, add beautiful transitions (we got hundreds), occasional special effects when absolutely just right, and most important of all a story flow that make sense! And yes, when necessary and appropriate, some background music (we own hundreds of pieces of licensed music) would be added.
And you know what photos alone cannot show? Grandma, whom have since passed on, congratulating you on a grand wedding and excellent choice for a spouse, perhaps talking a bit about how she enjoyed seeing you born, growing up, spending summers with her and grandpa. You will be able to say to your grandkids then, "see, that's great great grandma."
Not only would they enjoy the evening and the movie, but your children would think that the day was so important to both of you then, that you spent a fortune on just the video.
OKPhotos.com usually films your wedding ceremony with FOUR video cameras, and one or two at the reception. We travel to OKC and Tulsa, and places in between at no extra charge, and for the last two years have been completing the wedding video in about 3 weeks (instead of months), we even attend the rehearsal to scout the location.
You can always buy a more expensive diamond ring, or go on a more exotic fun vacation for just the two of you, but you will never be able to capture that special day again, with that beautiful sound and video qualities, when you both first said, "I do".
